Event Management
The Event Management (EM) division of the Facilities Services is responsible for supporting all special events and moving activities on UNM Central Campus, North Campus (HSC) and South Campus. We work closely with many campus constituents such as the Office of the President, Student Activities, Athletics, Alumni Relations, Safety and Risk Services (SRS) and Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) to ensure that we are delivering efficient and effective service based on sustainability and collaboration.
Our staff takes great pride in our work and ensuring that every event consistently receives the best customer service we can offer! We are dedicated to efficiency and professionalism and look forward to working with you on your next event or meeting, no matter the size.

Events
Event Management has a variety of equipment and event rentals for you to choose from. Events supported by the Event Management Department include UNM Commencement, Freshmen Family Days, Welcome Back Days, Hanging of the Greens, and various Athletic Department events. We are proud to offer competitive rates on all of our rental equipment and service. Please view our Event Support Checklist as well as, our Service Rates for current rental and labor rates.

Table Liners

Linen is rented outside of UNM from one of our trusted vendors. Please request a quote for linen a minimum of (2) weeks in advance to your event.
Linen is limited to select colors based on availability. Available colors include: red, white, black, turquoise, and grey.

Hard Hats (CE06)

Free for use, Available in red, black and white. $25.00 Replacement fee if lost or stolen
Ceremonial Shovels (CE07)

$5.00 per day, Shovel handles are cherry colored
Pin Boards
Pin boards a perfect way to visually display your poster/project and/or research. Great for students, student groups, departmental organizations, and staff/faculty events. Each pin board can hold multiple displays on both sides, making the great for larger events.

Easels
$5.00 per day. Perfect for any sized venue, from small classrooms to auditoriums, easels are small, collapsible, and easily transportable. Each holds one item and has adjustable legs.

$50.00 per day. 6500 Watts, 120/240 operation, gasoline powered, low noise.
Boxes (BX01)

No charge. Boxes are free to borrow provided they are returned within 60 days. If not returned, they are billed at $3.00 per box.
Sandbags (SB01)

$2.00 per day

Please contact the Event Management office to arrange. Charges may apply.
For outdoor events, please utilize our Outdoor Event Guidelines for tent setup, the use of portable toilets, trash removal, information on food vendors, etc.
Movers
In addition to campus events, the Event Management division is also available to assist UNM departments with on-campus office moves. Moves should be scheduled at least two weeks ahead of time but preferably one month in advance. To schedule a move and to request moving boxes, please submit an iServiceDesk request.

Refrigerator and Freezer Disposal
Refrigerator and freezer disposal is also available through the Event Management Department for UNM Campuses. Refrigerators and freezers must be cleaned out and wiped down. Units that were previously held in laboratory areas or which previously contained specimens must be cleared through Safety & Risk Services (SRS), please call 277-2753 for further directions.
In order to properly dispose of refrigerator and freezer fluids and the recycling of the unit, the Event Management Department does charge a $50.00 removal fee for each unit. Once you have submitted your Surplus Property form to Surplus Property, please schedule your refrigerator/ freezer removal by submitting a work order through iServiceDesk to the Event Management division.

Does Your Outdoor Event Have Electrical Needs?
If the event you are hosting has a electrcial portion of some kind, please let us assist with ensureing those needs can be met. Not all power outlets on campus are functioning, others are on timers and are only powered up during certain hours. In some instances you may require a larger temporary power source for your event needs. We are happy to navigate these obsticules by request. In some instances permitting and state inspection will be required.
Do You Have Lighting Needs For Your Campus Event?
Please let event management know if your event requires a reduction in lighting. This service is available in certain outdoor areas of campus at this time and may expand to other campus outdoor locations.
Furniture Moving And Room Flips For Events
Do you need a space cleared for an event? Event management offers the clearing of spaces in order to host an event. Have a vision, but have furniture in the way? No problem, we can assist with clearing and resetting of spaces come with a small fee attached. Commonly moved spaces include MCM, Jackson Student Center, Bratton Hall Forum, and the Bobo Room.
